Business is Booming takes a low perspective of the subject to elongate the frenzied background patterns and to mimic the view from the subject's smartphone. This works questions how healthy it is to be mentally incorporated into a virtual world and who's greed is satiated by our digital addictions.
The use of word magnets, inspired by the popular Magnetic Poetry brand, speaks to American consumerism.
This work was completed during a mini-residency at Goodyear Arts in 2023.
